About
The Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources
(SU*LAIR) / Academic Computing has paid for a campus-wide site license to
ChemBioOffice,
a chemistry and biology suite by CambridgeSoft.
This site license allows all current Stanford students, faculty, and staff
to download the program FOR FREE to their home, office, or personal
computer. Users must have an email address that ends with:
- @stanford.edu
- @slac.stanford.edu
- @globalecology.stanford.edu
Note that after downloading, no Internet connection is required for use.
The license key you will receive as part of the registration process does
include a timer that corresponds to the time frame of the annual site
license agreement.
Download and Install ChemBioOffice
- Verify Site License
Go to the
CambridgeSoft site license page,
enter your Stanford email address in the space provided and press
the “Submit” button. After pressing “Submit”
button, check your email for confirmation message from CambridgeSoft.
Click on link that they provide in message to go to CambridgeSoft’s
web site.
- Register and login to CambridgeSoft User Account
Using menu bar on upper left side of page, please complete one-time
registration and then login.
- Download Software & View License Code
Viewing menu bar on right middle side of page:
Download:
Select My Site License to download the
latest version of the software.
License Code:
Select My Downloads to view the Serial
Number for activating/registering your
copy of the software.
- If you have more than one code, note that longer Serial
Number XXX-XXXXXX-XXXX is PC format and shorter Serial
Number XXXXXXX is Mac Format.
- Note that there are different Serial and Registration code
numbers for different versions of the software.
- Version is included in Product Name column
- Choose a Serial Number with Expiration Date of
1/20/2008
- Register Software
In “Services” menu, select “Register My Software”
(Open new window or tab so that you can copy and paste in serial number from
“My Downloads” page)
- Select version number of ChemBioOffice from pulldown menu
- Copy and paste serial number from “My Downloads” page
- Enter today’s date as “Purchase Date”
- Select “ChemBioOffice” as product name
- Press Register Button on lower right side of web page
- Activate Software
Next double click on the CambridgeSoft icon placed on your desktop after downloading
latest version of the software (from “My Site License”). A
small window will appear so that you can “Activate” the
ChemBioOffice program on your computer.
- Enter your name, organization, email address, and serial number
(listed on “My Downloads” web page)
- Press “Activate Over Internet” button

- Install Software
Now run installation program to install ChemBioOffice on your computer.
