Chemical Laboratory Safety
This guide focuses primarily on chemical safety resources for the laboratory
environment. Additional chemical safety resources, including regulatory and compliance
information as well as
Materials Safety Data Sheets
and the
Chemical Safety Database,
are available on the web page of the
Stanford University Department of Environmental Health and Safety.
At least one
Chemistry Department Safety Representative
exists for each lab group.
Thanks to Stanford’s Department of Environmental
Health and Safety and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute,
Required Safety Videos
for the Chemistry Department are available at your desktop. The Swain
Library has also set up a couple of workstations so that videos can be
viewed on library computers. Ask at Circulation Desk for more details.
Please note that other interesting
Online Safety Training Videos
are also available from EH&S for Stanford students, faculty, and
staff.
