Collections

Tanner is a duplicate collection and exists to meet the research and teaching needs of the faculty and students in the Philosophy Department. The main philosophy research collection is located in Green Library. The Tanner holdings contain approximately 11,000 books and 35 journal titles, with bound volumes going back for about 15 years. Philosopher's Index is available online as is JSTOR.

The library also houses the C.I. Lewis Collection consisting of books donated to Tanner from the private library of the philosopher C.I. Lewis. These items are catologed in Socrates and circulate.
