    Stanford University Libraries Redesign Report

    Charge to Redesign Team

The SUL Redesign Team was charged in July, 1994, to apply the principles of business reengineering to library technical processes, ranging from acquiring materials to providing access to them, in order to meet stated budgetary targets over the course of three fiscal years.

Although much of this process occurs within Technical Services, it crosses into other divisions as well. It was acknowledged up front that a reengineered acquisitions-to-access process project might lead to changes in workflows and organizations outside the Technical Services Division.
