    Allocated Cataloging Services Staff

    • Head of Data and Materials Control coordinates initial liaison, if necessary, with Collection Development, once Monographic Receiving has passed project to Cataloging; gives priority assignment and workflow scheduling.
    • Head of Cataloging assigns project leader/coordinator responsibility. Project leader could be from a unit other than Data and Material Control if necessary for large, complicated or separately funded collections.
    • Operations Manager for Materials Control prepares and publishes a collection profile based upon data submitted by the curator through the Form.
    • Materials Control Unit staff carry out initial sampling and physical management of collection. This includes sorting and de-duping of serials.
    • Materials Control catalogs items with copy available and creates records for items where copy is not available.
    • Class Unit processes Level 3 cataloging items.
    • MDU Unit catalogs serials.
