    Cataloging Standards

    Copy and derived original cataloging:
Copy and derived-original (variant edition) cataloging are processed according to the same guidelines and policies as for non-collection materials.

Original cataloging (abbreviated level (a.k.a. level 3):
Original cataloging according to the Encoding Level 3 standards.

    Call number:
Apply LC call number or accession number as appropriate.

    Collection-level record:
Collection-level record may be a reasonable alternative to title-by-title cataloging for some collections. If this option seems reasonable, the project leader will consult with the curator prior to processing a collection using this cataloging option.
