The Metadata Department's current processing capacity for collections per annum is 3000 items. We have profiled all uncataloged collections submitted to us since the year 2000.
Monograph Receiving's current processing capacity for collections
If you have a collection of more than 50 titles that has not been profiled, please submit a completed
Collection Form.
For a list of current projects see the collection profile index.
Historical context note:
- In the year 2000/01 Metadata Department began processing several existing large collections selected for Stanford that did not fit into the existing Acquisitions/Cataloging workflow routine. Procedures were developed by Metadata to handle what was defined as collections of more than 500 titles.
- In the year 2007 Monograph Receiving joined with Metadata Department in defining a collection as 50 or more individual titles. With this new definition, the word 'bulk' was dropped.
Future collection processing will be handled by both Technical Services units with profiles being published on our web site as either Metadata or Monograph Receiving queues. The processing queue will depend upon the estimated size of the collection, the language and the existing collections in queue.
