    Copy Cataloging of Video Recordings

Search OCLC (vis{TYPE}) in Smartport for matching copy, comparing copy with information on cassette label, container, or accompanying documentation. Archival film records may be found in LC-VIM, but should be included in the OCLC database, unless they are from the old LC nitrate catalog.. If discrepancies are found in 245, 250, 260, 300 or 440 fields, the video will be cataloged as VE.

Videos will not be viewed in copy cataloging.
