    Creating Videorecording Records from the Workflows Template

    If no copy is found for a new videocassette or DVD title, create a new record using the TITLE_ADD wizard in Workflows. The record format must be set to VM (if necessary, go to the Title Maintenance group icon on the tool bar, right-click on "Add title" and choose "Properties" to set the default to VM).

    Fields to Input

    The following apply to both videocassettes and DVDs except as noted (see VHS and DVD examples)

    Fixed Fields
    Enc_Lvl = 5
    Desc = a
    Dat_Tp = s (single date) or p (multiple dates)
    Date1 = copyright date of videorecording
    Date2 = date of film release or original copyright
    Ctry = Country of origin (of film, not of videorecording)
    Lang = Language of film (usually noted if not English)
    Source = d
    Time (from container, if present)
    Type_Mat = v
    Tech = l (small L)
    Variable Fields

    040 = CSt
    245 0x Title|h[videorecording] (+ subtitle if present - other information can be left out). First indicator should be 0; no space before or after "|h" and no period.
    260 bb Only most recent date if multiple dates; ends with a period. No spaces after subfields.
    300 bb Input time if known (see examples for different formats)
    538  bb Videocassettes: If item is obviously labeled as PAL, field should read: VHS (PAL) format. DVD: can be input just as DVD if they are Region 1; otherwise add the region: DVD (Region 2). Video CDs (VCD): should read: VCD unless they are Super Video CD, in which case they should be input as SVCD.
