Data Elements for Level 3 Monographic Records
Level 3 records are created for monographs with imprints older than 5 years that do not
have copy available. Descriptive cataloging is
done according to AACR2 and access points may
reflect established forms to the extent that
such forms were available at the time the
record was created. Once these monographs have
been cataloged at level 3, they are considered
complete and will not be cycled through
MARCADIA. This document lists the required
MARC fields for Level 3 monographic records
