    Cataloging Workflow:
    Electronic Resources (physical)

    From Monographic Receiving:
    1. Receivers receive material, inserting any appropriate flags and writing Symphony ID on the routing flag.
    2. All materials are batched and brought to third floor and put on desktop of the LS4 assigned to AV materials.
    3. LS4 searches for copy, and catalogs any items with exact, derived, or enhanced copy.
    4. Original cataloging is given to the Media Cataloger.
    5. Materials with a notify for someone on Meyer 2nd floor should be shown to appropriate personnel on that floor to determine location and licensing.
    6. Materials should have a printout or flag with the call number placed in or on them and are hand carried to Binding and Finishing for end processing. For all notifies, a printout of the bib screen must accompany the item. Diskettes for Green Media/Mtxt should be given to appropriate personnel on Meyer 2nd flooor first to be copied, and copy should go to Binding and Finishing. Materials for Special Collections should be placed in the locked closet in the selectors' room. Electronic resources for SSRC will be taken to Documents Receiving for transport to SSRC (For rush items, cataloger will contact SSRC staff for pickup).
From Serials Records (including Government Documents receiving)
    1. Materials will be received and transported along with the regular serials incoming materials (see serials workflow)
    2. Serials LS4 will separate out CD-ROMs from the incoming serials and give them to the Media LS4 (or put in box of AV carrel in her absence).
    3. LS4 searches for copy, and catalogs any items with exact, derived, or enhanced copy.
    4. Original cataloging is given to Media Cataloger.
    5. Electronic serials which are not documents are returned to Serials Receiving when finished. Ordinary reconciling procedures will be followed for serial items. Electronic resources which are government documents will be returned to Documents Receiving (For rush items, cataloger will contact SSRC staff for pickup).
    6. Electronic monographs which are not for SSRC should have a printout or flag with the call number placed in or on them and are hand carried to Binding and Finishing for end processing. Electronic monographs for SSRC will be returned to Documents Receiving for delivery (For rush items, cataloger will contact SSRC staff for pickup). Materials for Special Collections should be placed in the locked closet in the selectors' room.
