    ERT Evacuation Plan

    1. ALARM SOUNDS

    2. Gather personal belongings that you can not do without for the next 3 months. [e.g. keys, purses, backpacks, etc.] You may not have access to the building for a long time.

    3. MEET AT THE ERT ASSEMBLY POINT
      • Meet at the ERT assembly point within 90 seconds after the alarm has sounded. The ERT assembly point is where the emergency supplies/backpacks are stored.
      • The first person arriving at the ERT assembly point should immediately get on the walkie talkie to establish communications with ERT teams on the other floors of Meyer.
      • 90 seconds after the alarm has sounded, assign floor clearing responsibilities to ERT members present (including bathrooms and common areas)
      • assign exit routes so that at least 1 ERT staff is responsible for "clearing" each of the 3 emergency exits on the way out. One red emergency backpack should be assigned to each ERT staff or team responsible for clearing an exit.
      • Assign someone to carry out the large orange ACQ emergency folder.
      • Distribute backpacks and emergency supplies.
    4. CLEAR FLOOR

    5. Working systematically through your assigned area, politely, but firmly direct lingering staff to stop work immediately and proceed to the nearest exit. They should not take time to shut down their computer.
Help people who need assistance in exiting the building to the landing of the main stairs. If this is not possible, report name and location to ERT co-ordinator immediately upon exiting the building.

    6. EXIT THE BUILDING

    7. Exit the building using your assigned emergency exit and be ready to help any staff who are having trouble. People who need assistance exiting the building have been told to assemble at the landing of the main stairs.

    8. MEET AT THE EMERGENCY ASSEMBLY POINT
      • Meet at the emergency assembly point grouped by Unit. [Acquisitions Dept. designated emergency assembly point is the lampost closest to the clock tower between Cubberley and the Career Center.]
      • Look for ACQ managers and, if absent, take the roll call for the Unit. Staff can be very helpful in determining status of missing staff. [e.g. did not come in to work, on break, etc.]
    9. MEET AT THE ERT ASSEMBLY POINT
      • When roll call has been completed, meet at the ERT assembly point. (to be determined)
      • Consolidate rosters and report to the SOC.
