Receiving Books for New Book areas

There are 4 New Book areas in the Bing Wing of Green Library. Each New Book area has a designated flag:

HAS-NEWBK (Terra green)
HAS-FICTION (Solar yellow)
SSRC-NEWBK (Cosmic orange)
SSRC-NWDOC (Lunar blue)

If the selector has flagged an approval book for one of these four New Book areas:

Process like any other book for Green Stacks

Leave the flag in the book. Be sure flag is inserted in the middle of the book instead of the front of the book so it does not slip out.

If there is a 940 Acq note indicating that a book should go to one of these three New Book areas:

Library = Green
Home loc = Stacks
Type = Stks-mono
Current loc = INPROCESS

Delete the 940 Acq note.

Flag the book with the correct flag. Be sure flag is inserted in the middle of the book instead of the front of the book so it does not slip out.

All 4categories of New Books are considered PRI 2 (which is the same level as NOTIFY) and books should be processed and routed accordingly.

NEWBK LOCATIONS AND TYPES WILL BE CHANGED AFTER THEY REACH THEIR SHELVING LOCATION

This is the only category of materials that are not processed using the location and itemtype from the Library/Location/Item Type table because they are not permanent locations.

You will note that the HAS-FICTION flags also include note "Retain book jacket" because all books in this category keep book jacket if there is one. Selectors can still use the plain "Retain Book jacket" flag for all other books.
