Limiting by Date and Number of Citations to Retrieve

Date limits

SciSearch covers 1945 to the present.

• Social SciSearch and Arts & Humanities Search cover shorter time periods as shown on the Search page.
• By default, the most recent three years are searched.

Select a range of years to be searched in the date range area.

• Enter four-digit years in the spaces next to From and To.
• Any single year or range of years, may be searched. To search one year, enter the same year in the spaces next to From and To.
• Quicker searching occurs when fewer years are selected.

For best results when browsing, select all years.

• Limiting by year in Cited Browse limits the publication date of the cited article.

Number of results per display

The default number of citations displayed is 25.

• This number can be adjusted on the Search page.
• Additional citations can be displayed by selecting Next at the bottom of the results page.
