Course Reserves

Course Reserves items are items kept at Library loan desks (or Green Library's Media-Microtext Center) for short-term use by currently enrolled students. Items are added to a Reserve Collection at the request of Instructors each quarter.

Find Reserves

  1. Search the Course Reserves Catalog by Course ID or your instructor
  2. Note the Library location and call number
  3. Request the item from the Loan Desk

Use Reserves

  • Loan periods vary by library
  • Some items may not be removed from the library
  • Renewals are not permitted.
  • Items must be returned to the lending desk, and if another user is not waiting, the item may be checked out again
  • Late fines are steep! $1 per hour, up to $30 maximum per item

Instructors - Create a course web site

Instructors can set up a course web site via Coursework that displays announcements, course materials, a syllabus, a schedule, online assignments and quizzes, a discussion forum for students, and a gradebook.

Instructors - Place Print & Media Materials on Reserve

New! Use the online Reserves Request form (5 days processing) to submit or edit a reserve list for your class, or authorize someone else to edit the reserve list for your class.

Instructor owned materials may be placed on reserve for student use.  Deliver instructor owned materials to the library’s loan desk.

What materials may be placed on Reserve?
General circulating items such as books, journals, CDs, DVDs, etc. and instructor-owned materials.

What materials may not be placed on Reserve?
